CT And RI Rivers May Get Protection

I saw this little nugget of news in the Hartford Business Journal today. According to the article, a bill has passed the United States House of Representatives that would protect the Pawcatuck River and other waterways in Connecticut and Rhode Island.

The Wood-Pawcatuck Protection Act would designate a segment of the Beaver, Chipuxet, Queen, Wood, and Pawcatuck Rivers for study for potential addition to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.

The bill passed the House earlier this week and now must move on to the Senate.
