The Norwalk show seems to add more things every time I go, and I expect the quantity and quality of boats to continue to be on the rise. In case you need a good reason to go to this year’s Norwalk Boat Show, I’ve got one. Actually, I’ve got five…

The top five reasons to visit the Norwalk Boat Show:

1.    100’s Boats and Deals.
The here will be hundreds of new boats ranging from 13 ft. runabouts to 80+ ft yachts on display. Catch the best deals of the season with exclusive show specials and competitive bargains on hundreds of luxury motor and sailing yachts, sport fishers, performance boats, family cruisers, and sailboats, plus hundreds of the newest boating products and accessories. With a boat for every lifestyle and budget, and experts on hand to help with the purchasing process, the show provides the ideal one-stop shop for new boaters and enthusiasts looking to upgrade their current boating lifestyle.

2.    Get Out On The Water.
Take advantage of free tips and interactive on-the-water educational programs for boaters of all ages and experience levels looking to hone their skills – from daily seminars on a variety of topics to morning pre-show premium workshops to powerboat and sailboat rides along Long Island Sound. New to boating and just want to experience life on Long Island Sound? Free powerboat and sailboat rides are also available.

3.    Shipwrecks, Gators, and Scuba! And did I mention Gators?
Be among the first to see a real shipwreck up close; witness expert alligator handler Jeff Quattrocchi catch an 8-foot alligator with his bare hands, or hold a baby gator; and try the exciting sport of scuba in a heated pool– bring a swimsuit and get a photo taken underwater as a keepsake.

4.    Try Stand Up Paddling.
You know you’ve wanted to all summer. Try it Cove gives visitors the chance to find out firsthand why paddlesports are all the rage, with a variety of complimentary daily opportunities to get on the water, including Stand Up Paddling (SUP), kayaking, water toys, inflatable rafts and more. Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit! Register early to reserve a space; changing rooms and towels provided. Visitors can also check out the Flyboard, an all-new jet propulsion technology that allows riders to fly like a bird and swim like a dolphin.

5.    Kids Cove.
Toy boat building gives kids the chance to build a nautical masterpiece – a one-of-a-kind vessel using pieces of wood, a little glue, and a lot of imagination. They can also navigate around a mini-lake in their very own paddleboat and enjoy other fun activities. Dora the Explorer will be there, in person, for photos with the kids!

Tickets are $15 for adults; children 15 and under get in FREE when accompanied by an adult. For more information and the latest seminar and event schedules, visit
