CT yacht builder files for bankruptcy

After building what was hailed as the largest recreational yacht manufactured in this country, Connecticut-based Derecktor Shipyards has filed for bankruptcy protection for the 2nd time in two years according to an article in the Hartford Business Journal.

As a CT resident, I was proud of (and surprised by) the fact that a Bridgeport company was building the mega yacht, which was named Cakewalk V. Now, as a CT tax payer, I am annoyed by the fact that the same company has received $3 million from the state and is going bankrupt.
