Boating Safety Seminar in Mystic

Join a panel of experts for a day-long Safety at Sea Seminar designed and conducted by sailors and experts in their fields specifically for local boaters, sailors, cruisers. According to its billing, the seminar will provide both novice and experienced mariners alike with the information and skills required to be safe on local coastal waters from Long Island into Fishers Island Sound, Narragansett Bay and up to Cape Cod.

Topics include:

  • lessons learned to prevent disaster,
  • damage control,
  • crew overboard and rescue procedures (including pfds, flares, distress calls),
  • medical care and prevention,
  • handling heavy weather, life raft, and other demonstrations.

The event will be moderated by renowned sailor and instructor, Captain Henry Marx, the owner and President of Landfall Navigation who has more than 40 years of sailing experience on both coasts of the United States, the North Sea and the Caribbean.

Joining Captain Marx is a panel of experts in their particular fields, which include boating safety equipment, on-board first aid, navigation, and electronic communications; rarely will you have the opportunity for instruction from such qualified individuals.
